I pinched the spare cluster out of my es so i didn't have to pull the one out of my daily vrx haha and if can use these parts I'll be able to do it on the VRX

awesome! I doubt the memory would be stored on the lcd itself, curious to see if you need to bring all the components over or just one or two. Top work mate

Thanks man, when I buy the evo 9 cluster next week I'll be waiting for postage until it arrives as I'm in Brisbane QLD and the cluster is down Melbourne way but keen to see if i swap the whole unit itself into the evo cluster and see how it goes, only thing I know is that the Evo tacho is in the middle unlike the non evo as my tacho is to the left. I have attached a photo of the cluster I'm wanting to buy haha

My Evo 9 cluster has finally arrived lol. Most of the lights tend to stay on when ignition is on. Do I have to swap some wires around and if so, how do I do that and which ones lol as i have no clue

Take a pic and show us which lights you mean. Might just be things like ayc and traction and water spray that you will need to remove the bulb from

The lights stay on which i think i read on this evo swap guide. Dimming doesn't do anything as it all lights up when ignition is on regardless of lights or not. Here's a photo. I tell you what though i love the cluster

Looks good mate. I think all the lights will go out except the ABS when you start it. In terms of the back lighting, see if you can find the wiring diagram for the evo and compare it to the lancer. Might find you need a swap a pin or two around for the back lighting. Does everything turn off when ignition goes off?

Everything goes off with ignition, it's only the anti lock one that stays on once car is started. I'll have a look at the wiring diagrams when i get home from tafe tomorrow but yeah I absolutely love the cluster haha

You could probably bolt one up, but the evo bar is wider than a CH, due to the wider rear guards. Next issue is that you’d now you’d have two place to put your number plate!

There are evo style replica bars for $400ish on ebay, otherwise buy a second hand one and let us know how it goes!

Interesting about the cluster. When I put my evo cluster in my coupe (CH wiring loom) I had next to no lights come on at startup (warning lights, I am aware the backlighting always stays on). Mine is a 7 cluster, however...... All lights function normally with the CH cluster. Found some pinout guides, but will try again to confirm what comes on and what doesn't. I think there are some pinout differences between the 7 and the 8/9 clusters

No lights stayed on for me except the backlighting once plugged and fitted into my ch

@Joshua Bayada AW4G9 threw the Evo 7 cluster in. All the lights and functions worked, however when the ignition is on and the car stationary, the speedo and tacho needles jump up to 10ks an hour, and 400rpm. Any ideas?

Diirrrrtyy signal. You’d need to scope it to find out quickly. My guess would be an earth is backfeeding.

Well there you go. Without sounding like a toddler, so I would need to look at it under a magnifying glass? Not sure what you mean by backfeeding

I'd go over it like Sdate said. Mines never done that. Only thing that i used to get is when i knew i had a full tank or 3 quarters full it used to sometimes show half full than slowly go up lol but hasn't happened for ages now
