so im currently in the process of building my 4g93. I have bought maxspeedingrods forged connecting rods for my engine and now have run into the problem of the rods hitting the end of the cylinder bore when I try to turn the crank. I've seen people on YouTube notch out the motor/end of the cylinder bore with a die grinder, looks really dodgy. wondering if anyone has had this problem before and a solution, thanks

There is a similar procedure for using K1 rods on the CE series of 4G9x however this requires grinding of the crank girdle rather than the bore. I'm chicken so I had a very experienced shop do mine along with the machine work and blue printing that you cant DIY.

Hopefully someone can chime in but the obvious solution is probably THE solution. TBH I dont know anyone else using cheap rods...

Retail labour on that was around $2000-3000 for everything, but I went nuts with the balancing and micro-polishing ect. Lots of man hours in that.

If you just need the clearance done, I'd still expect to pay a few hours work at $150+
