ES vs VRX guards - difference?

Hi guys,

First time post (yay), just have a bit of a question in case someone knows the answer.

A bit of info first: I've got a yellow (Y01?) 2004 CH VRX - sun faded, as I'm sure almost all are by now, or at least those that sit in the sun.

Late last year I got a love tap on the driver's side front guard by a learner driver; not too much damage, but it's popped the guard in a little and made a lip, so I'm looking around for a replacement guard from a wreckers and do the job myself. Save them a bit of cash because I'm trying to do the right thing (poor learner was on his third drive and his dad was ripping it up him), and I get a bit of experience tinkering with this one.

I've found a LOT of yellow ES' wrecking, but no VRXs, so I'm wondering what the difference in the guard is, seeing as I'm finding separate auctions on eBay for new guards? Starting to think I'll need to go through insurance, and that's okay, but just trying to be a nice guy here.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I don't think there would be any difference as the shape of the body didn't change or the headlight. the only difference between the es and vrx is only bodykit on the outside.

Ah, great to know! Will have a look into finding an ES guard then. Might grab some new headlights while I'm at it given the front bar will be off.

yeah just double check when you buy them but the frame never changed. some others that drive a ch may be able to confirm as I only have a cg vrx.

Will do, thanks heaps! Looks like there's a good condition one down in Ingleburn I might try and take a look at.

edit:: Don't know why I didn't just look on ASA to start with - looks like there's only one part number for front right guard; MN150626.

no body panels except the front and rear bumpers changed. and even then it was just aesthetically not in shape. theyre exactly the same

might as well get an aftermarket bumper if you cant find it at the junkyard/wreckers. i suggest poly eurothane bumpers.

The bumper looks fine - all that black has come off it, was just rubber from their tyre, I think. Or is there another reason? :)

Starting to think I might go through insurance anyway though - at least that way they'll spray to try and match colour as close as possible. The one I found is a 2006 ES, and I think they used a slightly different yellow; it looks brighter somehow, so it'd mismatch a little.

Thanks for all the help though everyone, awesome to know.
