Does front bumper have to come off to change headlights?

I've just tried changing my headlights, not just bulbs, actual whole headlight assembly (mine were faded and it seemed easier to replace rather than restore).

I have pulled on them pretty hard and it seems that only by removing the bar will the lights come out.

Has anyone done this job ? Did you remove the bumper bar ?

My car is a ch vrx wagon.

Yes it has to come off to change the headlights, just be careful when you seperate and refit the front guards, plastic retainer clips don’t like to be overtightened too much, can be fun getting it all straight again to line up, just don’t rush it should be fine.

You replacing them with new repo tinted Vrx ones or going halo led type?
