CE Keyed shocks but no mounts

Hi Guys
I have a 1998 CE lancer 1.8L coupe, lowered with 17" rims, had it for about 10years.
Anyway the front shocks are now Fu*%#@ are years of sidewards activity:tonguewink:
So I bought some new KYB shocks but there was an issue as they come in keyed and a non-keyed version.
Both have same date range 7/1996 - 9/2004 and both are for my variant 1.8L coupe.
I ummed a bit then went with the keyed version (333224/25)!
Now that I have my shocks out I see that I have the non-keyed version (333318/19) shocks.

Seems the keyed version doesn't match the strut mount I have.
I asked KYB what strut mount goes with the keyed version shocks which they happily replied that they dont make the strut mounts so couldn't tell me.

So does anyone know if I can get a different strut mount to fit the keyed version of shock's?
I had a look around but I can only seem to find the same(1) type of strut mount for my car - no variants.
How can there be 2 variants of shocks for my car but only 1 strut mount?
Is there a spacer, bush or adapter I am missing?

I'd rather not go out any buy the other set of shocks.

Can confirm there are indeed two types of shocks, but part numbers didnt change i believe.

@stoney should be able to elaborate a bit further though

So here are some pics to help ppl understand the issue:

This is KYB's listing - both for my car.

I have been to some of the local wreckers and their eye's just glaze over - "we only sell the complete strut assembly"
So from a wrecker I could pay almost as much for the complete strut assy as a new set of shocks but get crap old shocks and no guarantee that the mounts are correct!

I've got spare top hats for the keyed style... they use a bearing at the top rather than the nylon flat bush style in the non key. Let me know if you want them. The bearings could do with being replaced however they would still do the job as they only move small amounts.
