hi
having a problem with my cc lancer wagon.
car seem to jerk under acceleration like it is having trouble getting fuel.
only seem to stummble for about 1 sec then runs fine again. (happen at random times but mainly under acceleration)
i have changed the fuel filter and this has changed nothing.

problem seem to started after a person borrowing the car put woolworths e10 fuel in.

would it be fuel pump or something else.
looking for idea on were to try next.

bad batch of fuel, or putting the foot down too far at low rpm can cause it
but that doesnt sound like ur problem

Could be fuel, that said its definately not the type, Ive been running E10 for the last year in my wagon.

My guess is ignition somewhere, check the plugs and leads.

If it is a carby model: possible issues -

1) Vacuum leak. 1) Check for vacuum leak & fix it.
2) Ignition timing retarded too far. 2) Reset timing.
3) Accelerator pump nozzle has dirt in it. 3) Clean out the nozzle tip.
4) Accelerator pump cup swollen up from contact with bad gas or chemicals. 4) Replace the pump cup.
5) Economizer jet partly blocked (if this model has one) 5) Clean out economizer jet.
6) Secondary throttle plates not closing all the way. 6) Fix it.
7) Idle jet partly blocked with dirt. 7) Clean out the jet & any other dirt that is in there.
8) Distributor timing not advancing properly. (worn breaker plate, worn shaft, pin hole in diaphram (not sure if it has mechanical, vacuum or electronic advance), crack in hose, etc.) 8) Check distributor and all related systems carefully. Replace defective parts.
