Advise cc lancer conversions

Hi everyone I'm new to the lancer scene.., I just bought a 93 coupe gl 4g15 carb lancer... The motors good the gearbox is stuffed. What I want to know is I'm looking at putting in 4g93 or 63 but the problem is the gear box. The gearbox is mounted on the drivers side! Wierd ! It should be on the passenger side. Nearly all engines in the 4g63/93 range the gearbox is on the passenger side. How does this affect the conversion or do you swap the linkages over too so that the gearbox stays on the passenger side? I know that I'm gonna need more then motor and box and that the fuel line, tank and pump need to be swapped but I was hoping to buy a wreck and swap everything over. Any thoughts?????

put a 4g63t out of a older model vr4 in it, cheapish and good power

Everything you ask is in active topics atm.. just search or hit your unread post you should see trhe conversion threads. there is a topic on this forum for every converision you can think of and there is heaps of sticky's that will also help you out.

All CC lancers the gearbox are mounted on the drivers side

You will need to find a 4G93 or 4G63 from the CC based Lancer (92-95)

But seeing you have a 1.5 carby its gonna take alot more to do than just throwing an EFI engine in, the fuel tank and system needs to be upgraded, the dash loom, the engine loom and ecu, the engine, you would want to upgrade your gearbox from the small cable clutch setup to a hydrolic setup

Jump on evocoupe and have a look, few people have done it, and a few people have just sold their GL's and bought GLXi's instead
