Hey guys, wanting to paint my rocker cover so I will need a new gasket kit. Anyone know of any cheap places that sell them?

Can grab them at most auto stores (they can order them)
Or hit up ebay urself, it shouldnt be too hard to find one

Not hating on ppl suggesting henry, but really its not that hard to search ebay and find it yourself or go down to repco

officeworks have extra large rubber bands. works a charm.

jk...go to autopro or stealership

Why not buy a tube of rubber gasket glue and use that, after you have removed original gasket and cleaned surface run a bead around inside grove make sure it is flat and even allow to dry for 12 hours then install. Valve cove on he'd.

Am I reading this correctly? Your trying to find the cheapest place to get a $10.00 part?

As for the FIP (form in place) gasket option, I'd personally steer clear when it comes to the rocker cover. they tend to make them quite difficult to remove and due to their non structural nature, easy to deform.
-That being said, a small amount extra applied to the standard gasket doesn't go astray for any Mitsubishi engine

They're more than $10 man, my mates s14 one cost him $60, i know for a fact mine will be dearer than that

I linked like five choices for yours in that catalogue, for like 14 dollars each.

I picked up a 4g94 gasket (TWICE!) for $25 each. Either fork out the money or don't do it. If you're not prepared to spend money for decent quality parts then don't bother at all. Take it from someone who has learnt the hardway more then once.

Hey is there a DIY for painting rocker cover? I'm sure I've seen something but can't find it when I want it typically.

Not really hard man..

1. Remove all necessary bolts to take off rocker cover.
2. Remove everything in your way of taking the rocker cover off
3. Prep and paint rocker cover
4. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Cheers man. I'm clueless about mechanical stuff. Will oil spew out or anything. And seals that will need to be replaced if I remove the cover to prevent any leaks or just easy as 1 2 3

You will need a new rocker cover gasket, and its advisable to replace the spark plug tube seals aswell..
