MR Lancer Interior and Feature Conversion

Hey, I said in another thread I'm working on engine swapping from a donor mr lancer into my mirage but the mr also has nice plus features such as power mirrors and etc.

Question is How can I swap the Power windows, mirrors and etc over? Also is it worth putting in the black dash passenger airbag and carpetting?

Wiring, pictures tips etc anything will help :)

I swapped it all over in to mine. Was a piece of cake.
Took about 2 days between both cars. Swap everything, electrics and all. It all unbolted and unclips quite easily.
The only thing I didn't have was air bags to deal with.

Much nicer having a black interior :sunglasses:

And get a Gregory's manual if you don't already have one.
Will help with some of those hard to find bolts in the dash if you haven't already removed one before.

Including carpeting? Wiring is being a pain atm so would I swap ALL of the cables to mine?

Yeah carpet and all I changed.
The only wiring I didn’t change at the time was the dash/interior loom.
Unplugged the door wiring looms from inside the footwell cavity on both sides so I could have power windows and mirrors.

I later changed the interior dash loom and the front loom so my fog lights would work on OEM wiring. All proper. That was a bigger job. But if you’ve got the dash out, you may as well do it while your at it.

I did the same as ARC, my Mirage has a complete MR interior including electric windows/mirrors etc. Great quality of life mods as the black interior just feels better.

Ok cool cool. I'm thinking I'll swap the door panels and wiring if it isn't too hard to get the power windows working I'll leave the power mirrors cause who needs them. I'll swap interior panels e.g rear walls and etc but i think I'll leave the dash and passenger side grey because the black lancer one is bubbling on the top and idk if I should mess with the passenger airbag

How bad is it bubbling? It might be worth your while selling it as airbag passenger dash are generally sought after

Bubbling isn't too bad about 3-4 the size of 50cent pieces

U reckon sell it? idk if people would be after it on gumtree in brissy

Probably the hardest thing is popping out the plastic lugs that hold the wiring to the door. Your fingers will be sore that night after pinching those little pricks together all day, lol

Needle nose pliers make this easier

Makes it easier reinstalling if you keep them.
Just plug plug plug and follow the holes. Winning!

quick question for a 4g93 swap do you need to swap the wires under the carpet? so should I wait to swap the rest of the interior for when I do the engine?

I’m assuming you mean your interior loom?
Then no, you can leave it.

But I would change it anyway later on. The MR interior loom has extra wiring for fog lights and tacho that the standard mirage one doesn’t.

I’ve got a basic diagram on my laptop I think that will show you how it all runs and interconnects. I’ll try and find it.

I saw your question in chat, a bit of a waste of time asking there.

And I know I’m beginning to become a bit of a broken record here, but go buy yourself a Gregory’s Manual from Supercheap. Easily the best money you’ll spend on your car. You wouldn’t have asked half as many questions if you had one.

In saying that, valuable pictures from my Gregory’s Manual

Gotcha. The taco works right in tho? Only bounces because it's made for the 1.8. And I thought I had wiring for the foglights because everything was there for them they just haven't worked yet.
