Hello I’m buying a Mitsubishi Lancer ce gli2 this year and I was wondering what mods I should do to it I’m happy to anything this is my first car and I would like it to be like a race car and thing that would up the performance would be appreciated and if you have links to the mods that would be awesome thank you.

What do you mean all of them

What he means is that its a very wide open question in which your actually the best person suited to answer your own question.
I guess it really comes down to what direction your going and what you actually like, what you dont, how much time and money you want to spend and stuff like that.

Read over some members threads to see what other people are doing to get an idea of what you like and what you dont like, me personally I like a bit of everything but not too much of a single thing if that makes sense

I'd start with a rear swaybar, 15" wheels, and some springs/coilovers (in that order).
Then you can do brake upgrades and by this stage you can already have some fun at the race track

1. Rear wing so big it makes it look like a pram.
2. Wheels so big that there weight makes you go faster down hills
3. Swap to a 2 stroke for a lighter engine, very cheap and light means more fast.
4. Largest bonnet scoop you can find, if your pod filter can fit out it even better.
5. Roll bars for the style points, make it yourself out of pvc and paint it black
6. Red spray paint home job, goes faster

Hahahaha

What do you want to do with this car.???
It’s my first car I’m getting my ps in a month and I wanted to know what good first mods are good so I’m not going out wasting money on stuff that’s not going to do anything I’m new to modded cars I was thinking short shifter, gear knob, new wheels, cold air intake, straight pipe, maybe Coilover when I get the money and boss kit and steering wheel that’s like all I know for mods I was wondering is other people had any ones that are good for lancers ce

what good first mods are good
All good first mods are good, that's why there good!

Serious time, if you have an airbag steering wheel you can't legally replace it with anything other the an approved airbag wheel.

Coil overs are expensive and in a lot of places illegal due to the custom height adjustments. some exceptions.

You can not legally remove the catalytic converter or the muffler from you exhaust.
but you can get fairly cheap cat back exhausts.

Cheap options, go for high flow air filter and CAI, low or super low springs, short shifter/gear knob (make sure you have the H pattern on or near the gear stick), Head lights/tail lights, Tint, Lip kits.

I believe you can legally replace the existing cat (Worth checking) with a much more free flowing cat providing oxygen sensors are all in place.
The cat is the most restrictive item causing exhaust back pressure.

I usually hit a few basics first.

1. Window tint, if it's crap or there is none. New fresh tint.
2. Wheels, find a nice set you like. 15's are ideal with a good choice of tyres.
The bigger you go the less tyre choice you get and also more harsh the ride gets.
3. A cat back exhaust 2.25-2.5inch should keep the brup brup happy for a while. Cannons are *poo*!

One thing worth mentioning is that rear sway bars are hard to get. If you find one, jump on it.
It's been said many a time on here that it's the best bang for buck mod you can do.

Have a breeze through our ride threads and get some ideas.
Things to do are endless. Not something you'll whip through over night.

A 5 stud brakes upgrade has a fair few benefits:

1. Upgraded brakes.
- 276mm front brakes
-260mm rear brakes
- fair few options for race pads and daily pads.

2. awesome wheel choices
- not sure what type of direction to go but if its for show 5 stud is the way to go. granted there is good 4x100 wheels but definitely not as common as 5x114.3
- wheels with heaps of dish or not so much
- yeah its hard to get 15 inch wheels for better tire sizes but that comes with building cars.
-15inch vs 16inch

3. 5 stud conversions can come with a swaybar.
- check the for sale section in NSW ;)
- yes fto rear swaybar is not adjustable like the whiteline swaybar but good luck trying to find one for a fair price.

4. its not noticeable to the untrained eye.
- therefore you can upgrade your brakes and not have unwanted attention from the boys in blue.
- if your wheels have mexi-poke or you're about that stancenation lifestyle then thats on you.

now i understand its your first car and you want to start modifying but dont make the same mistake i did.
just buy parts for the sake of buying parts. plan, plan and plan.
what do you want out of it then reverse engineer how you get there. theres plenty of build here that are tracked and daily-ed as mentioned by the others.

the people here arent trying to scare you from modifying your car. you just need a direction to go in and then we can help guide you on how to get there.

if you do need to ask a question, create a ride thread, post up some photos and then as there. the chat does die down during the weekend but as somewhat active during the week.
