Hey guys,

kinda new to the car scene in Melbourne.

currently driving an 06 ch 2.4L 4g69.

looking to swap out the exhaust and headers as a start, but anyone know a good and affordable workshop that i can bring my car to?

also always keen to learn more about my car and the melbourne car scene, maybe visit car meets and stuff

Welcome to the Forum, post up some pics of the beast when you get a chance, local knowledge is always the best so i'm sure someone down Melbourne way should be able to point you in the right direction.

I'm also interested changing exhaust on mine. Unfortunately I haven't found any solid answers as yet. 4g69 that I have, has 2 cats. 1st one incorporated with the headers, and the 2nd usual one under the car. That 2nd cat (actually first cat, if you know what I mean))
is the main choke point in our exhaust system. Very hard to deal with as it has sensors hooked up on our near it, which if that cat is removed... you will be getting CEL codes.
Hopefully someone with better knowledge on the 69 can help us out..

I very much dig that kit.

For the exhaust, as long as the o2 sensors are receiving proper readings then you won't have an issue. Which means hi flow cats with a higher CEL count to keep emissions down. Unless you replace the entire exhaust, the headers won't net you any kind of discernable result. Soon as the gases exit the headers, they'll be restricted again by the remaining stock piping.

So a catback is a good idea to start with. You'll bet small results and have no issues with CELs or errors.

I agree with this. Ive never liked CHs too much but i can get around that kit and the color works well with it too.

Also welcome, you have a few members around you. Im about 15min from bundy myself and a few others are too.

I also love this kit, super neat!

Agree with the kit, looks good , the scoop affect on the grille along with front/rear bars, sides all look good in the platinum grey/black combo, wheels complete the whole picture :)

Haha thanks guys.

However got into an accident a couple weeks back so the front bumps a tad messed up but not if major.

Probs wanna swap out the rims for 16s or 17s when/if I get the chance

Ahh so your just here temporarily? Well you should come out to future meets with the guys from here. Good bunch of blokes plus im only around the corner really.

Im from Singapore, came over for studies. thats why i kinda want to do some stuff to the car, but i dont want to go all out cos that wouldnt make sense

Totally agree PhilX, now you are talking, that MR kit shown at motor show in Singapore is sick, i would be happy if i could just get the front/rear bumper covers.

Are they fibreglass or ABS material, anyone know?

lelong.com.my may have the CH bits you're looking for. Otherwise if you're super serious about getting them I have a contact in Malaysia (for getting Proton goodies for the CC) and I can ask if he has any way of getting the parts shipped here.

thanks! think i want to go for a more rallysport look. thinking of swapping out my front bumper, cos i cant bear to keep repairing it every time i hit a hump or scrape and curb
