380 map light/sunglasses holder in CH Lancer

Little project of mine I had been curious to try out. Took the map light out of a wrecked Mitsubishi 380 and wanted to install it in my Lancer.

It was easy enough measuring and cutting through the roof lining and routing the wiring. Then I inserted the mount and clipped the panel up into it. It's not perfect but it worked out better than I expected. I'll attempt to mount it properly at some point.

The only problem I have now is wiring it up so that both the centre and map light can be used at the same time. As both of these use the same port on the fuse box, I can only use one or the other. Wire the map light up to another fuse maybe?

Looks good, That's a first, never seen that mod before, very cool. Just wire the map light up to constant power might be easy way out, good job!

Ive always wanted to do this in the CE. Since we have no map lights. But the CEs dont have much space up there.

Evos had Sunroof options so I am going to assume that they had a different lining probably?

An old member stoney did it, theres heaps of room up there. He used a pajero maplight with a mdf backing plate to screw into. Looked oem and nice. I'm sure pending measurements these would fit

Well yeah they have that bulge. Ill sus it out i might actually go wreckers on weekend and have a poke to see the room. Test fit other cars stuff while im there lel.
