My old 300hp 4g93 needs some lovin!

just seems to be struggling to make hp.
even on the low boost setting it makes power very low in the revs and just stops... looks like 5krpm maybe? how high was it being revved on the dyno run?

i wouldn't think a gt35/40 would be causing a restriction.... what turbine AR does it have on?

and even more so at higher boost, if the high boost setting made simular hp/psi it should be at least 350hp... but as soon as it hits max boost it pretty much stops making any more power...

head probably isnt ported as well as the original, maybe restricting flow.
tuner said about 360hp if we had more fuel.
I wish i knew what cam. i didnt measure it very accurately, but looked like about 11mm lift.
 
One thing i did notice, it was farting and misfiring on boost after the tune. I thought it was blowing out the spark, but went down to.5mm gap and didnt change. Replaced coil packs and leads and that fixed it. Could have been doing that on the dyno and tuner didnt care.Who knows.

tuner didn't care it was missfiring...great tuner, definitely go back there.
explains the high boost power curve jumping around a bit.
but still the power is being limited by something even on low boost..
 
At the end of the day, it now just starts and drives every time. It is easy to drive and it is fun to drive, even off boost.
I dont go looking for trouble, but I do humble a lot of people. That being said, I was completely towelled by a VZ LS2 with a 2.3 Harrop Supercharger the other night, his last Dyno was 750hpatw on E85. So I dont feel to bad about that.
Roll racing early Nov. Got my ticket, cant wait.
I wont be first by a long way. But I wont be last!

Roll racing on the 3rd Nov was cool!! Im going back again on the 9th Dec.
Soooooo many awesome cars! Old School drag cars, rotarys, Xr6 turbos, a million commodores, heaps of evos.
Silvias, skylines, 2 Lambos, 2 Audi r8s, big dollar BMWs, everything. The little Lancer raised a few eyebrows, thats for sure. I also got smashed by heaps of cars. I would have to say, I beat more than I lost and you get heaps of runs. I made it to the 3rd round of eliminations and it took a blown big block Trans Am to beat me. I have attached a video my mate took of the second round of eliminations where I beat a supercharged CV8 Monaro by 1 car length. Its a dodgy quality video and Im in the left lane.
I got a in car video of me beating an Evo 8 MR with mods. I will try and post it later, its hilarious.
If you get the opportunity, I highly recommend it, no matter what you drive, its great fun.

I have been so busy with everything, I havent been able to update sh!t.
I am bad with computers and online stuff though.
So I have had some fun and learned how to and how not to do some things.
So I was roll racing in Dec and I was up against a 35 GTR with bolt ons. Got a bad start and he got about 2 cars in front and I sat there the whole way. He couldnt believe he couldnt pull away, I couldnt believe I kept up.
Anyway, after that, I had a bad missfire at idle.
Turns out I hurt the block. Cracked No3 cylinder.

So, out came the motor for yet another rebuild.

So, lucky I had another block sitting around.
Had it bored and honed to suit my new custom pistons and got new bearings and rings and away we go.
