after market steering wheel

i recently decided to try and install an after market steering wheel on my 2007 ch lancer! unfortunately the boss kit i purchased is not compattable with my model because i had an airbag ! the spline on the car is about 4mm larger! so my question is "has anyone successfully installed a boss kit on a ch lancer with an airbag?? cheers in advance ,

Thats one of the burg design ones, the other one they had was a wood panel insert one, i think the silver ones look better than the wood insert ones (unless you have a woodgrain insert dash panels i guess) and yes it should be a easy direct swap.

It is a direct replacement, just remember to disconnect battery, and watch the steering wheel retaining bolt, if you haven't done one before might be a good idea to read this old install post first to get an idea.

@wagonmaster
I hadn't done a swap before but i'm fairly good at working things out, hence i'm not here saying the airbag went off in my face.
So I did the swap today and everything was going swell until I found that the backing of the Airbag will not swap on to the Burg Design wheel.
Basically it will not line up with the rear of the Burg wheel at all so you can't screw it back on :(
I'm thinking maybe with some minor cutting it will go on but had to head to work which is where I am right now.
So right now im driving around with a much better feeling and looking wheel (compared to the sweat eaten one it came with) but with a small gap between the wheel and the steering column shroud.
I can't wait to get stopped for a rbt and the cops assume i've stolen the car :p

Won't line up, ok thats strange you would have thought it would be all good being a decent looking replica, i never actually bought one of those wheels (came close to buying a silver one once but ended up going the EVO route) i did buy some other stuff from them over the years on clearance line sales, that fitted ok.
Anyway good luck sorting it out in the next few days!

Still feels like a good $59 well spent, was 88% off apparently.
Have their door sills to fit tomorrow when I wake up.
Besides that I'm always on the lookout for a evo wheel to stick on, just seems all of them are overseas with shipping being the deal breaker or just costing me and arm here in Aus.
All the evo GTA wheels seem cheap so i might just get one of those since no one wants them
But i've got a seller on here in Aus on ebay i keep a watch on, which is where I got my evo 7 console stuff from.
