Service Scheduling!

Okay, As far as I know, there is most likely a service schedule post on here somewhere, but I am yet to find it!

I am looking at doing a service on my 2000 MR, It's at 275,000! Any recommendations as to what sort of service I should be carrying out? I'm getting a friend to help me, as I have no idea what I'm doing plus learning curve! :D

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Also, Mitsubishi told me I could get away with servicing it every 15,000 Ks, not really sure how I feel about that considering my CJ gets done every 7,500 >_<

I would do an oil swap every 5-10k just because it's protecting your engine and fresh oil will keep a motor Alive for years.

At 275k kms id be very wary of the timing belt, should have been done at 200k kms but if it hasn't it might be close or something to put on the back burner for the next service. I mean even if you literally just change the belt and make sure the tensioner works very well - you'll save yourself Pistons flying everywhere and bent valves and other nasties.
Otherwise just cycle through fluids regularly, I'd go on 10,000km cycles unless you're hammering it daily. If you just putt around town then it should be fine.
- coolant
- brake fluid
- power steering
- clutch fluid
- gearbox oil is also something to do as it makes for a nicer drive and protects it well (biggest tip is to make sure you can remove the bolt for the 'FILL' hole before you take off the drain one. It's happened to many before and then you're kind of stuck ahha)
- brake pads and rotors
- make sure your engine mounts are together
- then probably have a look at your suspension and all the bushings - not detrimental and don't need to be changed unless they're broken or torn.

Other than that for an old daily I wouldn't. Stress

Cheers for the info dude! :)

It was serviced at Motors in Hobart for most of it's life up until 220K, so timing belt was done at 200! So thankfully with the way I drive and how many k's I do, it should be another 12 months away (I hope).

Until timing belt? Naaaaah, you won't have to worry about it for yonks. Tassie isn't big enough for you to clock that many kms anyway ;) ;)
