V6 Magna Throttle Body on 4g93

New to the forum. Has anybody ever done a V6 magna throttle body on a 4g93??? the bolts are in the same place I just dont know how I'd hook up the wires, ill probably need to drill out the intake manifold too... anybody know how to do it though?

You may need to swap the throttle position sensor from your old TB to the Magna one and you either need to take the manifold off or fill it with rag and vacuum really well so no debris can get into the engine! And die grinder would be my weapon of choice then you get your trusty TB gasket make sure it matches the Magna TB and then make the manifold match the gasket or as I will be doing it is with some cardboard but I don’t like the idea of gasket matching with my actual gasket if it’s damaged well it’s a hassle getting another one

its mainly the connectors im worried about... I have 2 sensors with wires coming out on both the 4g93 TB and v6 TB and the 93 ones dont just clip in to the v6 one... i can get the manifold drilled out

Throttle wheel is on the wrong side too. You’ll need to invert the throttle or relocate the cable.

There is another option but it has a LOT more ????? Attached to it!!! So I’ll leave it in my head and go with the above if 4cyl/evo TBs

Better off with a evo or 2.4l 4cyl Magna/nimbus tb really.
i was gonna go with a 2.4 throttle body but all of the magnas at my wreckers that were 4cyl were the wrong generation. Also i believe the 4cyl one is only 60mm and still needs to have the manifold drilled out and connectors switched over too.

I got a 54mm from a 4g94 and it needs the TPS swapped over (thankfully I don’t need to swap the IACV) but if it’s the right shape/style of TB the IACV can be swapped easily enough!

i mean i was following the "Go big or go home" and went for the biggest throttle body i can... the V6 magna ones

Also something to keep note of;

If you have a say 100mm throttlebody, when its at idle it'll be around 12% cracked open.
If you have a 40mm tb, it'll also be 12% cracked open. This 12% is controlled by the ECU.

12% of a 100mm opening is much larger than 12% of a 40mm opening, and so your resting state idle will be thrown off. With a minor increment of the size of the tb, the car can attempt to self adjust, but it has a limited range, around 10%~ of adjustability.

i get that, i am only going from a 50mm to a 70mm (around) and i might end up having the plastic cased ECU tuned slightly, maybe with the AFR's itll be able to get cleaned up abit but i know theres not much adjustability

I get that, but 50mm to 70mm is a 40% increase, so you will have a higher idle, and even with adjustment it may idle higher than normal (1000rpm~ instead of 750rpm +-100).

AFR wont make much of a a difference - you'll be washing the bores by the time that the AFR impacts the rpm enough.

I dunno, its what I have rn... could always go with a full on ECU one day, I can just put it in and try, if its too big theres always other options

I think im just gonna sell this and get probably a g94, 4banger magna or even a RPW throttle body... not really worth it since the connectors are completely different... oh well, 6g72 throttle body for sale lol
