Hi new member here.

I own a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer CH sedan 2.4L ES. One plug of the steering wheel does not plug into the evo 7 wheel. The evo 7 has a white 2 pin and not 3 pin like the car.

Is there a way to fix this

Is it a GTA wheel?

@Alex_96
Yes an Evo 7 GTA wheel. The airbag will connect but the black module stops the wheel from going on properly. Also the white 3 pin connector on the car won't plug into the 2 pin connector on the gta wheel. So have no horn or airbag

Well that’s a problem, I did read somewhere years ago that another club member in another forum tried and failed.
Having said that if it’s just a simple matter of rewiring, and or utilising a different plug then it’s still possible, but then I’m not sure that the spacing on the new wheel be be a perfect fit on your Ch without major modification.

Below is an article on fitting a Evo 7,8,9 to Evo 4,5,6, it might give you some ideas on the Evo GTA wheel, I looked at doing the same conversion as you, but as the Evo 7/8/9 is a simple bolt on, I went that route.

The wheel itself fits nice and flush. I have figured out all i need to change is the clock spring to suit the white 2 pin connector and there doesn't seem to be a horn cable so i might have to completely dissassemble the wheel to wire in the horn as there's no wire for it visable at this stage

Only thing that's still bugging me is the black module on the clock spring hitting a metal bar in the back of the wheel. Might have to modify it or cut it out so it'll slide with the clock spring on. I currently have the clock spring removed until i get the correct one to suit the plugs on the wheel

That's the back of the wheel here and that centre metal piece makes contact with the black module on the clock spring stopping it from going all the way on the splineFB_IMG_1558955514802.jpg

Hey mate I've installed the same steering wheel in my ch and the only problem I came across was not being able to utilise the cruise control (from old steering wheel) and the buttons (for the head unit) on the new steering wheel.

I didn't come across the same issues with the clock spring hitting the metal frame of the steering wheel preventing it from going on the spline the whole way, so can't really help on this.

The 2 pin white connector on the steering wheel is for the steering wheel button controls (need separator adaptor to connect to head unit).

The 3 white pin connector on the clock spring is for the cruise control which the evo steering wheel doesn't have.

The horn wire connects to the flat metal bracket seen in the photo attached.

Hey mate, how do i connect it as it's different to the inside of the original wheel, the original has an earth and red wire where as the gta wheel only has the one tab like you've shown in the image
